Father...
0:05
There is no power nor strength except through Allah. Who do we have after you, O Farooq?
0:10
May Allah save you, O Commander of the Faithful. May Allah save you.

In the twenty-third year after Hijrah, the Commander of the Faithful, Umar ibn al-Khattab, was stabbed.
0:22
The just caliph, the one who distinguished truth from falsehood through his strong sense of justice for people, Muslims and non-Muslims alike.
0:35
He was stabbed by the resentful disbeliever Abu Lu'lu'ah, the Zoroastrian, with a poisoned dagger while he was leading the people in the Fajr prayer in the Prophet's Mosque in Madinah.

And when Umar regained consciousness — may Allah be pleased with him — the first thing he said was to ask his companions: "Did the people pray?"
1:02
Meaning: was the Fajr prayer completed, despite what had happened?
1:07
Yes, father, we completed the prayer.
1:10
Then Umar asked them: "Who was the one who stabbed me?"
1:14
It was Abu Lu'lu'ah, the Zoroastrian.
1:17
So Umar said — as a great worry lifted from his heart: "Praise be to Allah that the one who killed me is a disbeliever."
1:26
"And not a Muslim holding a grudge against me, who would argue against me before my Lord. Indeed we belong to Allah, and to Him we return."
1:35
May Allah have mercy on you, father, and reunite me with you in His Paradise by His grace and His forgiveness.
